Door Technician

$18-20/HR 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Residential and Commercial Door Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of overhead doors, operators, and related equipment for homes and businesses throughout the Lancaster area. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and excellent customer service skills. Welding experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair residential and commercial overhead doors, including sectional doors, rolling steel doors, high speed doors, and automatic operators

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on doors and related systems

• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical lifting equipment safely and efficiently

• Troubleshoot and replace parts such as springs, cables, motors, tracks, and panels

• Communicate clearly with customers regarding service recommendations and repair options

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and job completion details

• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and industry best practices

• Provide on call or emergency service when scheduled

• Assist with light fabrication or reinforcement work when needed; welding experience may be utilized

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a door technician, installer, mechanic, or similar trade preferred

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work at heights, on ladders, or on lifts

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Ability to read measurements, blueprints, and installation instructions

• Welding experience (MIG or Stick) preferred but not required

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
