The Packaging Associate is responsible for packaging finished food products according to company standards, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by accurately labeling, inspecting, and preparing products for shipment while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Package finished food products according to specifications and production schedules

• Inspect products for quality defects, proper labeling, and correct packaging

• Label, seal, and palletize finished goods accurately

• Maintain compliance with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, FDA regulations)

• Keep work area clean and sanitized in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

• Operate packaging equipment and machinery safely and efficiently

• Monitor product weights and packaging materials for accuracy

• Report equipment malfunctions, product issues, or safety concerns to supervisor

• Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required PPE

• Assist with changeovers and line setup as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or packaging preferred but not required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Basic math and counting skills

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive hand movements

• Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot or refrigerated environments depending on production area)
