Job Description – Supply Chain Lead
Position Summary
The Inventory Lead owns the end-to-end control of all materials within the facility. This role is responsible for inventory accuracy, receiving, storage, kitting, material movement, returns, and ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support uninterrupted production. The Inventory Lead acts as the single point of accountability for material flow and inventory integrity across the factory.
This position works closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Logistics to support safe, efficient, and lean operations.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory of all materials, components, consumables, and assemblies.
- Ensure inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, returns) are logged correctly and consistently.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Establish and maintain min/max levels and reorder points in coordination with Purchasing.
- Prevent material shortages, over-stocking, and obsolete inventory.
Receiving & Put-Away
- Own the receiving process for all inbound materials.
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality for incoming inspections as required.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, stored, and staged according to location standards.
- Identify and escalate damaged, incorrect, or incomplete shipments.
Kitting & Material Staging
- Lead the kitting process to support production lines, sub-assemblies, and projects.
- Ensure kits are complete, accurate, clearly labeled, and delivered on time.
- Maintain standard kitting lists and BOM alignment with Engineering and Production.
- Support line-side material replenishment and point-of-use inventory systems.
Material Returns & Packaging
- Manage the material return process, including excess, incorrect, or unused materials.
- Ensure returned materials are properly packaged, identified, logged, and restocked or dispositioned.
- Coordinate returns to vendors when required.
- Maintain clean, organized return and quarantine areas.
Material Flow & Organization
- Own warehouse layout, storage standards, and material flow.
- Ensure all inventory locations are clearly labeled and maintained.
- Drive 5S standards in inventory, receiving, and staging areas.
- Support lean material flow and continuous improvement initiatives.
Systems & Documentation
- Maintain inventory systems, logs, and tracking tools (spreadsheets, ERP, forms, QR systems, etc.).
- Ensure SOPs are followed for all inventory and material handling processes.
- Support audits, reporting, and data accuracy for leadership and finance.
- Train inventory and material handlers on proper procedures.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safe material handling practices at all times.
- Ensure proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifting equipment.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, facility safety rules, and material storage requirements.
- Report and address safety hazards within inventory and warehouse areas.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact for all inventory-related issues.
- Communicate material status, shortages, and risks to Production and Leadership.
- Support production planning by providing accurate material availability data.
- Lead by example with accountability, organization, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in inventory, warehouse, or material control roles (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Strong understanding of inventory control, receiving, and material flow.
- Experience with inventory tracking systems, spreadsheets, or ERP tools.
- Ability to read BOMs, packing lists, and basic drawings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Operation of material handling equipment.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to dust, fibers, and construction materials.
- Manufacturing and construction-style indoor work environment.
- Required use of PPE, including eye protection, masks/respirators, and other job-specific safety equipment.
Schedule and Pay
- Monday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm
- Pay Range: $25-$30 an hour
