We're looking for Chemical Compounders, FULL TIME in the Amityville area. A chemical compounder is responsible for performing all activities related to the compounding and mixing of bulk cosmetic products and assisting with pharmaceutical product manufacturing. This role ensures all processes are conducted in accordance with safety standards, cGMP guidelines, and departmental procedures. Additional responsibilities include equipment cleaning, sanitization, and general departmental support as required.
 

General Responsibilities

  • Perform all job functions associated with Assistant Compounder, Compounder 3, and Compounding Storage Area Technician roles.
  • Follow daily manufacturing processes for cosmetic products and assist with pharmaceutical compounding, ensuring compliance with safety standards, product quality requirements, throughput goals, and cGMP regulations.
  • Understand and follow all applicable SOPs, cGMP guidelines, and departmental procedures.
  • Maintain and accurately complete all required departmental logbooks in accordance with SOP requirements.
  • Demonstrate an in‑depth understanding of manufacturing and compounding techniques, including emulsions, anhydrous systems, gels, liquids, powders, and dyes.
  • Maintain high standards of product quality, safety, and cleanliness throughout all production stages.
  • Operate and understand a wide range of manufacturing equipment including:
    • Pumps, silos, mills, kettles, mixers
    • In-line and drop-in homogenizers
    • Pressure gauges, temperature gauges, DI water systems
    • Screw conveyors, valves, scales, and pH meters
  • Follow all check‑weight procedures for active raw material weighing.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, tanks, and work areas following SOPs for cosmetic and pharmaceutical processes.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks required for mixing, transferring, and handling raw materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with chemicals in a cGMP-regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in a compounding or manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate SOPs, GMPs, addendums, and documentation.
  • Basic mathematical skills (weights, measures, batch calculations).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb throughout the majority of the workday.
  • Ability to operate manufacturing and warehouse equipment as required.
  • Ability to safely work with chemicals using PPE.
