Summary

An Account Executive is needed to own day to day client relationships for union trust and employee benefit plans. This role serves as the primary point of contact for benefit and claim questions, supports client meetings and educational events, and drives renewals and proposal work. Strong ERISA knowledge, attention to detail, and comfort working across internal teams are key to success.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead client engagement by attending trust meetings, benefit fairs, union membership events, new hire orientations, and educational conferences
  • Respond to client inquiries on benefits and claims, research issues, and drive resolution with carriers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements and disbursements, flag variances, and support reporting needs
  • Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, reports, and follow up action items to keep stakeholders aligned and accountable
  • Interpret and apply Plan Documents, SPDs, and fund policies, ensuring processes align with ERISA, current legislation, and Department of Labor guidelines
  • Manage internal relationships and workflows to ensure client specific procedures, compliance, and timely deliverables
  • Support renewal and new business activity by reviewing coverage contracts and amendments, managing proposals, and coordinating communication materials for employees, clients, and vendors
  • Develop and lead team capability by partnering with department supervisor leadership on training, workload coordination, and performance support

Preferred experience and skills

  • Experience in employee benefits, union trust administration, or a similar client facing benefits environment
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, DOL guidance, and plan administration best practices
  • Confidence reading financial statements, disbursement reports, and operational metrics
  • Strong writing skills for meeting minutes, client communications, and proposal content
  • Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple client priorities without dropping details
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to influence across departments and vendors
