  • Wednesday: 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM

  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

This is an overnight shift position. Reliable on-site attendance is required.

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector ensures that crate manufacturing processes and procedures are followed to meet customer standards and specifications. This role performs visual inspections and manual testing of products and processes before, during, and after manufacturing. The inspector also records, monitors, and analyzes quality data and shares findings with Operations, Senior Management, and Quality teams.


Essential Functions

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required:
Must wear steel-toe boots and all other required personal protective equipment.

Key Responsibilities and Estimated Time Allocation

Inspection of Crates — 50%

  • Accept or reject finished products by verifying that products and processes meet customer specifications through visual inspection and measurement.

  • Inspect products and processes using specialized tools, including weighing, measuring, checking wood moisture levels, evaluating workmanship, and assessing product reliability.

  • Use internal software systems to track and update quality data and assist with reporting to Operations, Senior Management, and Quality teams.

Improvement Recommendations — 40%

  • Review customer specifications, standards, and test plans; provide feedback to the Design team as needed.

  • Review, implement, and follow up on corrective actions related to customer complaints, product returns, and non-conformances, including root cause analysis.

  • Participate in ISO audits to support compliance with local and company-wide quality standards.

Communication to Production — 10%

  • Communicate errors, defects, and non-conformances to the Production team verbally and through written documentation.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to support continuous improvement efforts.


Desired Education, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Six (6) months of wood products or manufacturing experience preferred

  • One (1) year of quality inspection experience preferred

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; bilingual Spanish preferred

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn internal quality software

  • Ability to read a tape measure in 1/4", 1/8", and similar increments

  • Experience reading blueprints and design drawings preferred

  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
