Job Summary:  

This position will apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to provide our client and its customers with reference equipment needed for calibration of products.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Execution of calibration and test procedures with transfer standards and other equipment.
  • Receive, handle, and distribute test equipment for interal departments and customers.
  • Manage chain of custody for calibration instruments and their related documentation.
  • Communicate and negotiate with vendors regarding desired calibration and repair services.
  • Communicate and negotiate with customers regarding approved calibration and repair services.
  • Amendment of calibration certificates.
  • Development and validation of calibration methods, procedures and workbooks. Management of internal server file structures in compliance with internal and external guidelines.
  • Perform measurement uncertainty analysis for primary/working standards and process instrumentation.
  • Analyze requirements for measurement standards and make recommendations for purchase.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify abnormalities, trends and or predicting future values.
  • Perform periodic maintenance on test equipment including cleaning and minor adjustments. 
  • Train LWS staff and distributor’s employees in the appropriate use of calibration equipment.
  • Train metrology technicians in basic job functions and theory of operation of calibration equipment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of ISO standards and apply required changes to internal processes.
  • Investigate equipment and process deviations.
  • Assist internal and external auditors with investigations and accreditation renewals. Work efficiently and effectively from home if approved by management.

  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds and 41+ pounds as a two-person lift.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

  • 2-year degree in STEM-related field and/or 3 years’ experience calibrating instruments relevant to electronics industry.
