Estimator/Project Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to join our metal fabrication team in Gastonia, NC. This role is responsible for quoting fabrication projects, preparing work for release to the shop, and coordinating closely with customers and shop leadership to ensure projects move smoothly from estimate to completion.

The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD skills, a solid understanding of metal fabrication processes, and experience working with material thicknesses, tolerances, and labor estimating.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate project quotes, including material take-offs and labor estimates

• Review customer drawings and specifications using AutoCAD

• Communicate directly with customers regarding quotes, timelines, and project details

• Release approved orders to the shop and ensure all documentation is complete

• Coordinate with the shop foreman to address questions, changes, and production needs

• Track job status and provide updates as needed

• Ensure estimates align with fabrication capabilities, tolerances, and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator, Project Manager, or similar role in metal fabrication or manufacturing

• Proficiency in AutoCAD

• Strong knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, tolerances, and fabrication processes

• Experience estimating materials and labor

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
