Sit Down Forklift Operator – 1st Shift 

Location: Channahon, IL Pay: $19.50/hr Assignment Length: Through 7/1/26 Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Mandatory 10‑hour shifts) Mid‑February: Transition to 12‑hour shifts Start: No interview required

Position Overview

A leading company in Channahon is seeking dependable Forklift Operators to join their 1st‑shift team. This long‑term opportunity offers consistent hours, mandatory overtime, and a fast onboarding process.

Key Responsibilities

Forklift & Equipment Operation

• Safely operate forklifts (single and double; ability to pick up two pallets at once).

• Perform daily safety checks, including fluid levels (oil, water, fuel).

• Remove palletized bags from production lines and place them on the stretch‑wrapper.

• Operate and maintain the stretch‑wrapper, including changing stretch film.

• Load trailers with correct quantities and SKUs based on BOLs.

• Place palletized product into inventory, ensuring proper stacking and row placement.

Material Handling & Yard Work

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, dusty, rainy).

• Pull pallets from the palletizer and store them in the yard.

• Maintain pallet inventory and communicate shortages to supervisors.

Quality, Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

• Participate in plant cleanliness: restacking, removing debris, washing equipment.

• Perform physical inventory counts as needed.

• Meet quality and quantity production standards.

• Report any BOL changes to Dispatch or office personnel.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to climb on/off equipment and sit for extended periods.

• Strong communication skills.

• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

• Ability to read/write English and follow instructions.

• Comfortable working in dusty, hot, cold, or rainy environments.

• Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Previous forklift experience (single/double preferred).

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Must pass a 4‑panel drug test (no THC testing).

• Must pass a 7‑year background check.

• No violence or theft charges.

• Reliable attendance and ability to work required overtime.
