CPA Tax Reviewer

The CPA Tax Reviewer is responsible for reviewing and analyzing tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high-quality tax deliverables while supporting junior staff and improving internal processes. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented CPAs with strong technical tax knowledge and a commitment to excellence.

Job Duties

• Review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns for accuracy and compliance
• Ensure tax filings comply with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Identify tax issues, risks, and opportunities for optimization
• Provide feedback, guidance, and mentorship to tax preparers and junior staff
• Research complex tax matters and provide technical recommendations
• Review supporting documentation and workpapers for completeness
• Assist with resolving IRS and state tax notices as needed
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes and best practices
• Ensure deadlines are met during peak tax seasons
