Full-Time Handy Man  / Janitor

 

Our client is seeking handy/janitor for a full-time contract to hire position at a payrate $18-20/hr. depending on experience In the city of Gardena Ca.

 

 

 

About the Role:

Responsible for overseeing a variety of maintenance and janitorial tasks to ensure a safe and clean facility. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide janitorial and maintenance support for Gardena and Compton locations
• Perform regular cleaning duties, including sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming
• Perform general maintenance and repairs, including but not limited to:
• Unclogging drains and pipes using dislodging devices (i.e., snake, plunger, etc.)
• Replacing light bulbs
• Cleaning restrooms, breakrooms, training/conference rooms, exterior walkways, and parking lot
• Pick up and deliver machine parts between Gardena, Compton, and Anaheim
• Report major repairs to supervisors or managers
• Ensure tasks are completed on schedule and with little supervision.
• Install and troubleshoot standard appliances and equipment
• Ensure all maintenance equipment is in good working order
• Take inventory of maintenance supplies and notify the Supervisor of low or depleted supplies

 

Education and Experience: REQUIRED & PREFERRED

 

REQUIRED:

• 1+ years of experience working in a general maintenance capacity
• Proven ability to comply with policies, and follow safety and security procedures

 

Skills (Technical):

• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools as well as cleaning equipment

 

Skills (Interpersonal):

• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to multi-task while managing time effectively
• Bilingual in Spanish prefer.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and move items or boxes up to 50lbs
• Reasonable accommodations may be extended to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  

Compensation…Wage is  18-20 DOE
