CNC MACHINIST (DIRECT HIRE)

 

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating both manual and CNC machinery to produce high-precision components. This role supports the complete manufacturing lifecycle of a part—from interpreting engineering drawings to verifying final dimensions and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Machine Operation: Set up and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders

 

Programming: Perform conversational programming on CNC machines

 

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, models, and specifications to determine materials and machining processes

 

Measurement & Inspection: Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensional accuracy

 

Layout & Planning: Calculate dimensions, plan machining layouts, and scribe metal stock

Tooling & Process Improvement: Inspect tooling and recommend or design modifications to dies, jigs, fixtures, and specialty tools

 

Qualifications

 

Technical Skills: Ability to calculate dimensions, perform basic math, and convert fractions to decimals

 

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience

 

Quality Focus: Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection tools

 

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs.

 

Compliance: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

 

Communication: Ability to read, write, and understand English

 

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, not required

Logistics & Compensation

 

Employment Type: Direct Hire – Permanent position

 

Shift: 1st Shift (No nights or weekends)

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday with an early out on Fridays

 

Hours: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM (40–42 hours per week)

 

Pay: Hourly rate based on experience

 

Machinist: $27.50 – $29.50/hr.

 

Experienced Machinist: $29.00 – $31.00/hr.
