Punch Press Operator - 1st Shift (6am-2:30pm)

Our client located in Carpentersville, IL is looking for a Punch Press Setup Operator. In this position, you will operate and make required set-ups on presses performing a limited variety of component operations-setting dies, adjusting stroke, attaching and adjusting safety equipment, working with parts similar in nature, but varying in size or detail.

In this position, you will:

• Operate and make required set-ups on presses performing a limited variety of component operations, setting dies, adjusting stroke, greasing leader pins, attaching and adjusting safety equipment, work with parts similar in nature, but varying in size or detail.
• Obtain first piece inspection release, check work during run for dimensions, burrs, broken punches, cracking or buckling, and visually inspect components for obvious damage or defects.
• Work from drawings, shop orders, and samples.
• Use a variety of measuring equipment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Punch press set-up or similar role (1-2 years)
• Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
• Attention to detail
• Print reading
• Knowledge of measuring tools.
