Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, driven Store Manager to lead a high-volume retail operation. You will manage a team of 30–35 staff in a fast-paced environment, overseeing sales performance, inventory, staffing, and daily operations. This hands-on leadership role requires someone confident in identifying opportunities, implementing positive changes, developing future leaders, and driving sales growth while fostering a positive, engaged workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coach, and retain a high-performing team
- Create a positive, engaged workplace culture
- Provide ongoing training and tools for staff success
- Conduct annual and quarterly performance reviews
- Support team-building initiatives
- Manage workforce planning, inventory control, budgets, and expenditures
- Enforce company policies and procedures and protect store assets
- Communicate direction clearly and ensure consistent execution across all departments
- Lead new sales growth by identifying opportunities and implementing changes to the retail space
- Manage and analyze current sales and take the necessary action to maximize them
- Make bold, strategic decisions to improve overall store performance
- Provide data-driven recommendations for the annual budget by analyzing historical performance, current market and economic conditions, and industry trends.
- Build strong relationships with customers and staff
- Work closely with department heads and merchandisers
- Lead by example on the sales floor and in the yard
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of retail management experience in a high-volume environment
- Must have experience with high sales volume (non-negotiable)
- Strong background in retail operations and people leadership
- Experience managing large teams and significant inventory investments
- Hardware or LBM experience is an asset but not required
- Experience with contractor sales, quotes, and account management is an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable and experienced in driving change and revitalizing store performance
- Post-secondary education in business management preferred, or equivalent experience (Not Required)
Compensation
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
Compensation includes a bonus component based on store performance.
