Job Title: Outside Sales Representative

Job Summary
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers within an assigned territory. This role focuses on selling waste hauling, disposal, and recycling services to industrial, commercial, and residential customers while promoting safe, reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect, identify, and develop new customer accounts through cold calling, referrals, networking, and field visits
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers by providing ongoing service support and identifying additional needs
• Conduct on-site evaluations of customer waste disposal requirements and recommend appropriate service solutions
• Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and service agreements
• Negotiate contracts and close sales to meet or exceed sales goals
• Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery
• Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and environmentally sound waste management practices
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline updates
• Represent the company professionally in the field and at community or industry events

Qualifications

• Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in waste management, environmental services, construction, or a related industry
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to assess customer needs and recommend cost-effective, environmentally responsible solutions
• Proficient in CRM systems and basic computer applications
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of waste hauling, disposal, and recycling services
• Experience working with industrial, commercial, or residential accounts
• Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices

Work Environment

• Primarily field-based with regular travel
• Occasional office work for meetings, reporting, and coordination
