Transformer Technician

Transformer Technician (2) positions  
 
Understanding of transformers and how to wind them will be provided from the ground up by the Transformer Lead.
 
We’re looking for candidates who are:
•    Good with hand tools and basic shop tools (drill, bandsaw, Dremel, deburring wheels).
•    They will need to be comfortable lifting 50 lbs. daily, using hand carts/small lifting cranes and working with their grip strength.
•    Basic use of computers or multimeters (to test the transformers) is required.
•    Bilingual candidates are a plus but not required. But ability to read English is required
•    Transformer Technician has the following responsibilities/authority:
•    Performs various production winding operations on bobbin and toroidal type transformers including attaching leads.
•    Works with prototype transformers, building frame assemblies, winding with fine, medium, and heavy wire.
•    Modifies bobbins, assembles and laminates transformers based off of visual aids, blueprints, winding diagrams, bill of materials and verbal
 
Safely uses a variety of equipment, hand tools and other machines.
•    Use of machines or hand tools to strip wires
•    Coordinates team lifts or use of lifting equipment
•    Assists final processing of transformers as required
•    Performs production maintenance tasks as assigned by Production
•    Conducts turn ratio test
•    Conducts tests through ATE or other tests, as required
•    Responsible for work trace

Education and Training:    High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
Any Combination of training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties successfully and meet business objectives
