Our client, a well established manufacturing company in Dekalb, IL is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their team. The Company offers excellent benefits, longevity and a great company culture.

Production Manager Responsibilities:

• Assign work and actively lead departments and operators to achieve planned production objectives
• Understand and demonstrate operational knowledge of all equipment and their capabilities
• Ensure correct materials are used and produced to the correct specifications on each job
• Instruct operators and ensure machines are set-up correctly for each job
• Efficiently communicate with Material Handlers to ensure material is staged and ready before needed
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are implemented as directed
• Ensure all equipment is being utilized for proper order fulfillment and optimal shop floor efficiency
• Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Promptly communicate with Maintenance Manager when equipment requires service or repair
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are being met
• Understand operational metrics, machine rates, and speeds
• Understand and utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Perform employee reviews, coach, and mentor operators
• Understand and utilize ERP systems to manage the manufacturing process and ensure accurate recording of labor and material usage

Requirements:

• College degree preferred
• 3-5 years of experience as a Production Supervisor
• Ability to multitask
• Basic math skills
• Strong communication skills
• Initiative, self-administration, and disciplined follow-up
• Strong leadership skills
