Key Responsibilities
Contact members to understand reasons for delinquency and recommend solutions such as payment arrangements, loan modifications, or workout agreements.
Maintain a professional, respectful, and empathetic tone during all member interactions.
Respond to member inquiries via phone, mail, email, secure messaging, and in person, including requests related to CPI claims, GAP and other dealer-sold insurance, NADA values, and address updates.
Monitor delinquent accounts and recommend next steps as appropriate, including repossession, legal action, foreclosure, or referral to a collection agency, exercising sound judgment within policy and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure member files are accurate, complete, and up to date, including proper documentation and completion of adverse action forms.
Collaborate with branch staff and lending teams to resolve member issues, support collection strategies, and assist with cross-functional initiatives.
Research and analyze past-due loan accounts, non-sufficient fund return items, negative share balances, and potential fraudulent account activity.
Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including FDCPA, UDAAP, bankruptcy laws, BSA, Patriot Act, and OFAC requirements.
Safeguard member confidentiality at all times.
Uphold and promote the highest standards of integrity, accountability, leadership, and teamwork.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of collection practices, loan servicing, and delinquency resolution strategies.
Working knowledge of federal and state collection regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
Analytical skills to assess account history and recommend appropriate action.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in collections, financial services, or lending
Familiarity with loan servicing systems and documentation standards
Experience handling sensitive or confidential financial information
