Human Resources Generalist 

 

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our client in northern Lake County.

 

This full-time, onsite role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who can provide comprehensive support across all key HR functions—including benefits administration, compliance, payroll, recruiting, and employee relations.

 

The HR Generalist will play an important role in fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting both managers and employees, ensuring smooth HR operations, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.

 

Direct Hire position

Salary is $60,000-65,000 based on experience


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR-related questions and concerns.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures; ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, terminations, offboarding, and exit interviews.
  • Administer benefits programs, including enrollments, communications, and vendor coordination.
  • Partner with management on employee relations, coaching, and performance improvement.
  • Maintain accurate employee files, HRIS records, and compliance documentation.
  • Support HR initiatives that drive engagement, retention, and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate compliance training, certifications, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Support recruitment efforts: job postings, interview scheduling, reference checks, new-hire paperwork.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee payroll processing, timekeeping, and tracking of contingent labor.
  • Administer unemployment insurance claims and respond to agency inquiries.
  • Conduct and document workplace investigations in alignment with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, HRIS, and payroll systems.
  • Proven experience with benefits administration, payroll, compliance tracking, and unemployment claims.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
