Our client is hiring a dependable Receiving and Material Specialist to join our 1st shift team in Benton Harbor, MI. As a Receiving and Material Specialist you are responsible for optimizing and maintaining the current material receiving processes. We want someone who will implement and improve our current receiving processes and develop efficient material moving strategies.

• Pay Rate: $18.00-$24.00 DOE
• Job Type: Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Pre-receive material into MRP, qualify material certification to specification required PO, and create and manage storage capacity for newly received material.
• Unloading of material off trucks, verify and inspect material as needed (looking for wrong quantities, no certifications, wrong material, damaged material, etc.), perform material certification/sample process, and finalize material receipts, tagging with the correct serial number and status/location in MRP.
• Manage material sample verification process for customers, provide accurate inventory for all raw material location, work closely with team members to maintain accurate used material quantities and locations, communicate with purchasing about material discrepancies as well as monitoring certain Kanban levels of purchased goods, review job dispatch and transfer material both physically and virtually to ensure machine uptime, and verify accurate quantities of material going out and coming from machine centers.
• Ensure your assigned areas inside and outside are properly cleaned/swept/mopped/blown off, organize scrap trailer, empty scrap hoppers as needed, replace and change over empty lubricant drums as needed, and ensure all bins, skids, and dumpsters are always organized and presentable

Qualifications

• Experience working in receiving/shipping environment and forklift experience/certification is preferred.
• Computer literacy skills to learn and operate MRP system, perform data entry, electronic scanning, and email functionality.
