Journeyman Electrician

Located in Rockdale, TX

Salary: $30.00 – $37.00 per hour

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a large, well-established industrial facility in Rockdale, TX to find an experienced Journeyman Electrician for a long-term night shift position. This is a non-traveling, on-site role ideal for skilled electricians seeking stability, competitive pay, and consistent scheduling in an industrial environment.

 

Schedule:

·         7 nights on / 7 nights off

·         12-hour night shifts (Wednesday–Tuesday rotation)

·         Average 36–50 hours per week, with overtime opportunities

 

Pay Rate: $30.00 – $37.00 per hour, depending on experience

What You’ll Do

·         Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems

·         Work with lighting systems, motor controls, control panels, and PLC systems

·         Perform electrical testing using voltmeters, ammeters, thermal scanners, and other diagnostic tools

·         Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, wiring, and conduit installations

·         Perform high-voltage terminations and system repairs

·         Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and service manuals

·         Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations

·         Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections

·         Direct and assist other electrical workers as needed

·         Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate work documentation

·         Follow all safety procedures and site policies

 

Physical & Technical Requirements

·         Ability to work on elevated surfaces (ladders and scaffolding)

·         Lift and move heavy objects

·         Distinguish wire colors

·         Use hand and power tools effectively

·         Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

·         Ability to work independently on night shift

 

Requirements

·         Journeyman-level electrical experience required

·         Minimum of 7 years of professional electrical experience

·         Industrial or manufacturing environment experience preferred

·         PLC (Programmable Logic Control) experience strongly preferred

·         Electrical license preferred

·         Associate degree in an applicable field considered
