Roadside Technician

Located in Round Rock, TX

Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour,

Express Employment Professionals has partnered with a well-established equipment services provider to find an experienced Roadside Technician. This position supports both shop operations and field service for industrial HVAC, power generation, and dehumidification equipment.

This role is ideal for a technician with strong HVAC, diesel, and electrical experience who is looking to grow from shop-based work into a mobile service position.

 

Schedule & Work Environment:

·         50% shop / 50% field work

·         Travel required within a 100-mile radius

·         Day shift with occasional nights, weekends, or emergency service as needed

·         Work performed in shop, customer job sites, and outdoor environments

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience

 

What You’ll Do

·         Install, set up, service, and troubleshoot large-tonnage HVAC systems (up to 40-ton units) and chillers

·         Install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial dehumidifiers and humidification systems

·         Perform electrical hookups, terminations, and troubleshooting for generators, HVAC units, and related power systems

·         Work with power distribution equipment, including distribution panels, transformers, and electrical cabling

·         Assist with and perform diesel generator setup, operation, diagnostics, and maintenance

·         Safely handle, install, and move heavy electrical cables and components (up to 100 lbs)

·         Support shop operations including equipment preparation, staging, inspection, testing, and maintenance

·         Begin working in the shop and transition into a field service truck role

·         Complete service documentation, work orders, and safety paperwork

·         Follow all safety procedures, electrical standards, and company policies

 

Requirements

·         HVAC certification required

·         2–3 years of hands-on experience with HVAC systems, diesel-powered equipment, generators, or industrial power systems

·         Experience working on the electrical side, including generators, transformers, and power distribution

·         Diesel technician experience preferred

·         Working knowledge of diesel engines, generators, HVAC units, dehumidifiers, and related systems

·         Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy equipment and working in varied environments

·         Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally
