Digital Printer Operator 


Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $19–$21 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift – Monday, 6:00 or 7:00 AM to 2:30 or 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed)

 

 

The Direct-to-Film (DTF) Operator plays a critical role in the production process, ensuring high-quality prints are produced accurately and efficiently. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency with printing equipment and software, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and committed to maintaining consistent output standards while supporting a collaborative team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation:
    Set up, calibrate, and operate DTF printers. Monitor print runs for accuracy, color consistency, and overall quality.
  • Artwork Preparation:
    Review digital artwork and ensure files are properly formatted, color-matched, and print-ready using RIP software and graphic tools.
  • Quality Control:
    Inspect prints for alignment, clarity, and color accuracy. Identify and correct errors to meet company and client standards.
  • Maintenance:
    Perform daily cleaning, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to keep printers running at peak performance.
  • Material Management:
    Load and manage transfer films, inks, and other materials. Track inventory and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
  • Workflow Coordination:
    Collaborate with designers, production staff, and finishing teams to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Record Keeping:
    Document print settings, color profiles, and project details for future reference and quality consistency.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when reviewing artwork and final prints.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of DTF printers, RIP software, and printing processes.
  • Computer Skills: Comfortable using computers; experience with Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator is a plus.
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Ability to perform routine maintenance and resolve common printer issues.
  • Time Management: Capable of handling multiple jobs and meeting deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Team Collaboration: Works effectively with others and contributes to a positive team dynamic.
