Job Title: Grain Inspection Technician (Container Yard)

Location: Amarillo, TX – Container Yard
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) TEMPORARY. Expected to last 3-4 weeks.

Job Summary

Pay: $13.00/hr

This role involves hands-on grain inspection and sampling at a container yard. The position requires manual labor, working outdoors, and entering shipping containers to inspect stowage conditions and collect grain samples.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform grain inspections inside shipping containers
• Climb into containers to check stowage conditions
• Close containers to verify light is not passing through (pass/fail determination)
• Collect grain samples from containers using an Ellis cup sampler on a conveyor belt
• Maintain accurate pass/fail logs and grain samples
• Deliver daily samples and inspection logs back to the Amarillo Grain Exchange office
• Collect and prepare inspection supplies for the following day

 

Requirements

• Ability to perform physical labor and climb into containers
• Comfortable working outdoors in various elements
• Attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection results
• Reliability and ability to follow inspection procedures
• Neat and legible handwriting
