Steel and Welding Technician/Helper

Located in Etters, PA

Salary: $20/hr-$30/hr DOE

Hours: M-F. Can start as early as 5am and work until 3pm. Depends on the schedule and project.

Dress code: Steel toes. Tshirt and jeans. No rips, holes, tears, or anything offensive. Hard hat.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Steel & Welding Technician / Helper to support steel installation and welding work on active job sites. This position involves hands-on fabrication, manual labor, and material handling at schools and other commercial or institutional buildings.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Assist with steel installation, fabrication, and welding activities
• Perform manual labor to support job-site operations
• Load and unload trucks with steel, tools, and job materials
• Work safely on active job sites, including schools and commercial buildings
• Support lead welders and installers with daily tasks
• Operate job-site equipment when qualified
• Follow all safety procedures and job-site regulations

 

Required Experience & Qualifications:

 

• Prior experience working with steel and welding in a construction or industrial setting
• Experience performing manual labor in a job-site environment
• Ability to safely assist with material handling and physical tasks
• Must have basic personal tools and safety equipment, including a hard hat and safety harness
• Knowledge of job-site safety standards and PPE requirements
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Must obtain clearances depending on project

 

 

Preferred (Plus) Qualifications:

 

• Stick welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
• Experience operating scissor lifts
• Experience operating pallet jacks and forklifts
• Ability to use your own tools, hard hat, and harnesses. Some may be provided.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions

 

Work Environment:

 

• Job sites include schools and other commercial or institutional buildings
• Construction and industrial environments with strict safety requirements
