Job Purpose: Welds metal components together with MIG or TIG welding equipment to fabricate or repair products. Welds metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by layout, welding diagram, or work order. Job Requirements:

Associate's degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school or 6 months to I-year related experience and / or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, operating and maintenance manuals, safety rules, and short correspondence and memos.

Ability to read prints, welding procedures and welding specifications as they relate to a specific customer's job.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Ability to read and use tape measures.

Ability to use welding equipment including measuring devices for determining weld sizes.

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with IOS and IOOs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but simple written or oral instructions.

Will be regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance.

The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
