Bakery Store Manager


Pay: $45,000–$55,000 annually

Job Summary:

The Bakery Manager oversees daily bakery operations, manages staff, maintains product quality, controls inventory, and ensures excellent customer service. This role is responsible for budgeting, ordering supplies, implementing health and safety regulations, and leading staff to meet operational goals.


Essential Functions:

  • Direct daily bakery operations and staffing.

  • Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise employees.

  • Promote teamwork through effective communication, recognition, mentoring, and staff meetings.

  • Schedule and supervise bakers, clerks, and support personnel.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bakery environment.

  • Provide coverage and operational support as needed.

  • Maintain high standards for product quality and consistency.

  • Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships.

  • Develop and manage budgets, monitor sales, and implement cost control measures.

  • Collaborate on menu development and pricing strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and health regulations.

Skills Required:

Strong leadership and team management, organizational and time-management abilities, knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards, inventory and budget management, customer service excellence, and effective communication skills.


Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, and manual tasks in a bakery environment, including lifting or carrying items up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive motions safely.


Equipment Used:

Standard bakery equipment (ovens, mixers, proofers, decorating tools), office equipment (computer, phone, printer), and safety equipment as required.
