Estimator – Evaluation Hire

Join a growing and well- established organization specializing in Steel Manufacturing through Express Employment Professionals in Guelph! We are hiring on behalf of a local employer seeking an Estimator. This is an excellent evaluation-to-hire opportunity for someone looking for stability, consistent daytime hours, and long-term career potential in a safety-focused environment.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7:15 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay Rate:
$65,000-$80,000/per year - based on experience

Key Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Estimate labor, material, and equipment costs from drawings and specifications
• Quantify fabrication hours for OEM, custom, structural, and miscellaneous steel components
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and pricing spreadsheets for tenders
• Input and manage estimating, inventory, and logistics data in steel management software
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders on scope and cost changes
• Track actual project costs against bid estimates
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Post-secondary education and/or relevant industry, manufacturing, or technical experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience estimating metal fabrication products
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, welding, and assembly
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively within a team or independently
• Experience with estimating software and AutoCAD considered an asset
