Overview:

This position focuses on precision grinding of metal components using a range of manual grinding equipment. The role plays a key part in producing high-quality parts that meet exact specifications. Success in this position requires mechanical skill, careful attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Primary Duties:

• Sets up and operates a surface grinding machine
• Reads blueprints and work orders
• Measures parts using micrometers, calipers, or gauges
• Adjusts machine settings for precision and tolerance
• Inspects finished parts for quality
• Maintains a clean and safe work area

Job Requirements:

• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 45 lbs independently
• Comfortable operating machine handles for prolonged durations
• Required to own precision micrometers (0–2”) and a .0005” dial indicator, or obtain them within 30 days of hire
• Experience in manual or CNC surface grinding
• Ability to read blueprints and specs
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of metal materials
• Basic math and measuring skills
• Prior machining or manufacturing experience (often preferred)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade training is a plus
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in grinding or machining environments
• Strong math skills, including trigonometric calculations
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience working with precision measuring instruments
• Effective verbal communication skills within a team environment
