Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $25-$28 per hour (DOE)
Increase: Minimum $2/hour increase after successful completion of 90-day probation
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Quality & Safety Manager to oversee quality assurance and workplace safety programs within a small manufacturing and fabrication environment. This role is responsible for maintaining inspection standards, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The selected candidate will train alongside the current manager for a minimum of two months to ensure a smooth transition prior to retirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage quality assurance processes for fabrication and welding operations.
- Oversee workplace safety programs, policies, and compliance initiatives.
- Perform and/or oversee parts, weld, and structural inspections to ensure conformance to specifications and applicable codes.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication documents.
- Maintain quality and safety documentation and analyze data using Excel.
- Utilize CAD or similar software to assist with inspection, layout, or quality verification as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Manage corrective actions, root cause analysis, and process improvements.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to uphold quality and safety standards.
Required / Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality or safety supervision/management OR
- Lead QA experience in a fabrication environment OR
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a weld inspector performing structural inspections
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using CAD or similar programs.
- Advanced blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
- Hands-on experience with parts inspection, weld inspection, and structural fabrication.
- Experience with 5S, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement programs.

- Comfortable working on the production floor in a fabrication setting.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a fabrication and manufacturing environment with regular exposure to welding processes, heavy materials, and machinery. Candidates must be safety-conscious and capable of working hands-on in an active production setting.
