Our client is a globally integrated processor and distributor of industrial materials, known for safety, stability, and long-term career opportunities. As their Waterdown facility continues to grow, they are looking for reliable, safety-driven Forklift Operator / Production Labourers to support warehouse, production, and material handling operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on environment with a mix of forklift operation, manufacturing equipment, and general labour duties — no two days are the same.
Available Shifts
- Day Shift: Monday–Friday | 6:00am–2:30pm
- Afternoon Shift: Monday–Friday | 2:30pm–10:00pm
- Night Shift: Sunday–Thursday | 10:00pm–6:00am
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, front-end loaders, and scissor lifts to move materials safely and efficiently
- Operate manufacturing and processing equipment (continuous flow systems – training provided)
- Run legacy dryer and slag milling equipment
- Load and unload trucks while following safe material handling practices
- Pick and verify orders using a warehouse management system
- Monitor product quality, collect samples, and analyze finished product according to quality procedures
- Identify product inconsistencies and make process adjustments as required
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues (mechanical, electrical, or control-related) and correct efficiently
- Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections and services
- Complete wear-part maintenance and screen replacements
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and follow all safety protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work collaboratively with a supportive operations team to keep production running smoothly
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid 3rd-party forklift licence with hands-on operating experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts, loaders, and scissor lifts is preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or industrial environments
- Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical or process-related issues
- Mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn new equipment and systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication skills and a safety-first mindset
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
Education & Technical Experience
- Technical diploma or related experience/training preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered
- Mechanical Red Seal certification is an asset
- Candidates with documented safety achievements or a strong safety record are strongly encouraged to apply
