Retail Store Team Member

Located in Crescent City, CA

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 DOE

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a friendly, dependable Retail Store Team Member to provide exceptional customer service and support daily retail operations. This role is essential in creating a welcoming experience for visitors while maintaining food safety, inventory accuracy, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with a professional, welcoming attitude
• Provide product knowledge, recommendations, and samples
• Accurately process sales transactions using POS systems (cash, credit, electronic payments)
• Manage phone, email, and online orders through ERP systems
• Perform opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reporting
• Cut, weigh, wrap, label, and stock cheese products following food safety standards
• Maintain clean, sanitary counters, equipment, and displays
• Receive deliveries, rotate stock, prepare shipments, and monitor inventory levels
• Update pricing and promotional signage accurately
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1 year of retail, customer service, or food handling experience preferred
• Experience in specialty food, grocery, or manufacturing retail environments a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, team-oriented, and customer-focused

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
• Work in cold environments and around moving mechanical equipment

Work Environment

• Onsite retail and production facility
• Moderate noise levels
• Occasional exposure to cold conditions

Additional Information

• Occasional travel may be required (<5%)
• This position does not supervise other employees

Schedule: Full-Time, Tuesday – Saturday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Saturdays may vary to 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
