Medical Insurance Specialist 

A growing healthcare organization in Lincolnshire is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and motivated Medical Insurance Specialist to join their team. Position Overview

The Medical Insurance Specialist will handle insurance claim follow-up, eligibility verification, and denial resolution while working across internal systems and the hospital’s Epic platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys investigative work, problem-solving, and maintaining high-quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicating with insurance providers to resolve claim discrepancies, denials, and outstanding issues

• Working within internal databases and the hospital’s Epic system

• Maintaining accurate documentation and detailed records

• Taking on additional responsibilities as knowledge and experience grow

Compensation

• Pay range: $25–$26 per hour

• Contract position with long-term potential based on performance and business needs

Schedule & Work Environment

• 40 hours per week, fully on-site

• Casual, supportive work environment

• Flexible shift options:

  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Qualifications

• Experience in medical insurance claims, appeals, or healthcare administration

• Ability to interpret eligibility verification and EOBs

• Understanding of the claims appeal and denial-resolution process

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

• Professional communication skills with insurance reps and patients

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Proficiency with multiple computer programs

• Experience with Epic, OneSource, or Availity is a plus
