We are seeking an experienced and motivated Behavioral Health Billing Supervisor to lead a team of 4–5 billing specialists. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the billing department, ensuring claims are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with Medicaid AHCCCS guidelines. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven background in behavioral health billing, claims reconciliation, and collections management, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (assessment required).
Supervise, train, and support a team of billing staff (4–5 direct reports).
Monitor performance, workload, and productivity of the billing team; provide coaching and feedback as needed.
Oversee claim batching, scrubbing, submission, payment posting, denial resolution, and reconciliation of files.
Ensure timely follow-up with payers on outstanding or denied claims.
Develop and maintain Excel-based reports to track collections, aging, and billing performance.
Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated claim issues and payer communications.
Ensure compliance with Medicaid AHCCCS Plans, payer requirements, and company policies.
Collaborate with leadership to set and achieve monthly and quarterly collection goals.
Maintain confidentiality of all claims, financial, and participant information.
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Billing & Coding preferred.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in medical billing/claims, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong background in behavioral health billing and Medicaid AHCCCS Plans.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required (assessment will be administered).
Experience with EHR and computerized billing systems; Credible Billing Software experience is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to reconcile 837 transactions, payment files, and resolve complex claim issues.
Strong leadership, coaching, and organizational skills.
Valid Driver’s License, acceptable 3-year Motor Vehicle Record, and Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions and performance.
