Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals are seeking a dependable Assistant Pipe Fitter to support the installation and repair of fire sprinkler systems. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined or currently is a Plumbers Apprentice, able to work at heights, and interested in learning a skilled trade. The Assistant Pipe Fitter will work closely with experienced technicians while performing hands-on installation and repair tasks on commercial and industrial job sites.

$17.00/Hour

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, modification, and repair of fire sprinkler piping systems
• Support pipe fitters with measuring, cutting, assembling, and hanging pipe
• Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment at job sites
• Work on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces as required
• Follow all safety procedures and job site guidelines
• Maintain tools, materials, and a clean work area
• Participate in night work when projects or shutdowns require it

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Department of Labor Trainee License (fingerprints and background check required)
• Reliable personal transportation to and from job sites
• Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials and equipment
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow directions
• Punctual, dependable, and safety‑minded

Preferred Tools

Applicants with the following tools are preferred, but not required:

• Tool bag
• 10" or 12" crescent wrench
• TBC wrench
• Small channel locks
• Two (2) small vise grips
• 10" or 12" pipe wrench
• 24" pipe wrench
• 3/8" ratchet
• 3/8", 1/2", 9/16", and 11/16" sockets
