Tax Preparation Specialist (Individual and Business)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparation Specialist to join a welcoming and modern local CPA firm that serves both individual and business clients. This role supports tax preparation, accounting clean-up, and financial accuracy, especially during the busy tax season from January through April. You’ll work in a relaxed, well-equipped office environment with a supportive leadership team that values comfort, collaboration, and quality work.

Job Duties

• Prepare individual and business tax returns in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Assist with bookkeeping cleanup and creation of trial balance spreadsheets
• Review and verify accounting records for accuracy prior to financial statements or audits
• Organize and analyze client financial documents and supporting schedules
• Collaborate with CPA staff to meet deadlines during peak tax season
• Communicate professionally with clients to gather needed tax information
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal data
• Support additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed
