Express is recruiting for a Power Pro Operator for a Grand Junction fishing line manufacturer.  

2nd Shift

Monday - Friday

3:45pm - 12:30am

$16.25/hr

Job Summary

The Power Pro Operator is responsible for producing coated and non-coated braided fishing line using proprietary processes. Operators set up, monitor, and maintain multiple machines while ensuring quality, safety, and production efficiency. Advancement is based on demonstrated skill and performance, not tenure.

Core Responsibilities

·         Verify product, PLC settings, and work orders.

·         Independently run various types of machines according to SOP and assist teammates when needed.

·         Mix, monitor, and apply chemicals accurately and perform cleaning procedures.

·         Perform machine and tank cleaning duties and follow safety protocols.

·         Complete daily machine inspections and report issues promptly.

·         Label and scan completed product accurately.

·         Support changeovers and coordinate row readiness for upcoming jobs.

·         Conduct audits, document results, and participate in quality and safety meetings.

·         Work in acetone and chemical environments while following PPE and safety protocols.

·         Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

·         Other  duties as required by the department.

·         Machine Operation: Independently run multiple machines and resolve basic mechanical issues.

·         Quality Assurance: Perform audits, identify non-conforming product, and report accurately.

·         Production Efficiency: Maintain KPI requirements of output depending on skill level.

·         Scanning Accuracy: Use scanners properly and accurately.

·         Chemical Knowledge: Correctly following SOPs and safety protocol in working with chemicals.

·         Training & Mentorship: Support and train new hires and peers, ensuring process understanding.

·         Color Distinction: Ability to accurately distinguish colors for quality inspection and sorting tasks.

·         Work Order Interpretation: Follow work orders precisely and adjust PLC settings accordingly.

·         Safety Compliance: Follow SDS, respirator use, acetone handling, and machine safety rules.

Physical & Environmental Conditions

• PPE and respirator use required per department guidelines.

• Hearing and awareness required in loud environments.

• Good vision required for line quality and color distinction.

• Work around heated materials and in rooms that may become warm during operation, following company safety protocols and OSHA recommendations for heat safety.

• Work around dyes, acetone, and other chemical solutions.

• Lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.

• Use hands and fingers for fine manipulation and color sorting.

• Stand and walk 75–100% of shift.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
