CNC Machinist Lead

Full time – Temp to hire

Monday thru Friday – 3:15pm to 11:45pm

$30hr to $38hr depending on experience.

 

An innovative manufacturer of highly engineered fluid and gas handling high pressure equipment designed to generate high pressures to store and control gases and liquids for a wide range of applications, is looking for CNC Machinist Lead to join their team in Burbank.

 

Summary: This role is critical to ensuring precision manufacturing, workflow efficiency, and adherence to quality and safety standards in a high-performance production environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of CNC machinists in daily production activities, ensuring schedules, quality requirements, and safety standards are met.
  • Set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot CNC mills and lathes for complex, high-tolerance components.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance, training, and mentorship to machinists to improve skill levels and processes.
  • Oversee first-article inspections and in-process quality checks.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve non-conformances.
  • Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and maintain tight tolerances.
  • Coordinate tooling selection, offsets, fixturing, and preventive maintenance of machines.
  • Enforce shop safety procedures and promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of CNC machining experience, with prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in CNC milling and turning, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience machining high-pressure components, tight-tolerance parts, and difficult materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards, inspection methods, and precision measurement tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles is a plus.
