Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Logistics Coordinator/Dispatcher to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, managing freight movements, and ensuring efficient delivery operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, analysis capabilities, and familiarity with transportation management systems to optimize supply chain processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to seamless logistics operations by effectively dispatching freight, maintaining fleet management, and supporting shipping and receiving functions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to ensure timely deliveries.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation efficiency.
• Dispatch drivers and freight personnel via multi-line phone systems, providing clear instructions and real-time updates.
• Maintain accurate data entry related to shipments, delivery schedules, and fleet management records.
• Collaborate with 3PL providers, carriers, and internal teams to coordinate shipping & receiving activities.
• Support freight tracking through analysis of GPS data and transportation planning tools to resolve delays proactively.
• Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and maintain proper documentation for all shipments.
• Handle inquiries with professional phone etiquette and effective communication skills to address client or vendor questions.
• Assist in the management of transportation planning strategies to optimize supply chain operations.
• Support the use of logistics software such as AS400 for data management and reporting purposes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics coordination or dispatching within a supply chain or transportation environment.
• International logistics experience required.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems including Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret GPS data, GIS mapping, and transportation planning metrics.
• Knowledge of freight operations, fleet management, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL coordination.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and managing multi-line phone systems.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette.
• Experience working with logistics software such as AS400 or similar platforms.
