Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate manufacturing of products. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to identify and resolve basic equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machines according to established procedures and specifications
• Set up machines, load materials, and adjust controls as required for each job
• Monitor machine performance to ensure consistent product quality
• Inspect finished products for defects and compliance with quality standards
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor adjustments on equipment
• Identify mechanical issues and report more complex problems to maintenance staff
• Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and operational procedures
• Complete production records, logs, and required documentation
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Meet production goals while minimizing waste and downtime

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, or diagrams
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to follow safety rules and operate equipment safely
• Basic math skills for measurements and counts
• Team-oriented with good communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, or pull materials (typically up to 50 lbs, with or without assistance)
• Manual dexterity to operate controls and tools
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
