Salary: $16.00/hr+
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Steel Industrial Painter to apply protective and specialty coatings to structural steel components. This position plays a key role in ensuring corrosion protection, durability, and a quality finish that meets project specifications and industry standards.
Apply industrial coatings to structural steel using spray, brush, and roll methods
Read and follow coating specifications, product data sheets, and work orders
Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer and project requirements
Verify surface preparation meets required standards prior to painting
Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, defects, and compliance with specifications
Operate and maintain spray equipment, pumps, and paint lines
Maintain clean, safe, and organized paint areas and booths
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and ventilation systems
Coordinate with blasting, fabrication, and quality teams to meet production schedules
Previous experience as an industrial or structural steel painter
Knowledge of industrial coating systems (epoxies, urethanes, primers, zincs, etc.)
Ability to read work orders, drawings, and coating requirements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work in an industrial environment with PPE requirements
Physically able to stand, bend, climb, and lift as required
Experience painting structural steel for bridges, buildings, or industrial facilities
Certification in industrial coating or corrosion control
Experience using plural-component spray systems
Forklift or overhead crane experience
Industrial shop or field environments
Exposure to paint fumes, noise, and varying temperatures
Required use of respirators, protective clothing, and safety equipment
