Salary: $16.00/hr+

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Sand Blaster! In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing structural steel surfaces through abrasive blasting to meet coating and quality standards. This is hands-on work that plays a critical role in the durability, safety, and finish of our steel products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting (sandblasting or similar media) on structural steel components

• Prepare steel surfaces to required specifications (e.g., SSPC, NACE, or customer standards)

• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure proper cleanliness and profile

• Operate and maintain blasting equipment, hoses, nozzles, and air compressors

• Load, unload, and move steel materials using cranes, forklifts, or other equipment (as trained)

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and containment systems

• Maintain a clean and organized blasting area

• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems to supervisors

• Work closely with painters, inspectors, and fabrication teams to meet production schedules

Qualifications

• Previous experience in sandblasting or abrasive blasting (structural steel preferred)

• Knowledge of surface preparation standards and blast profiles

• Ability to read work orders and follow specifications

• Comfortable working in industrial environments with noise, dust, and PPE requirements

• Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• Experience with steel fabrication or industrial painting

• Forklift or overhead crane certification

• Familiarity with SSPC/NACE standards

Work Environment

• Industrial shop or yard setting

• Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment

• Use of full protective gear, including respirators and blast suits
