Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Tax Reviewer to support clients during the tax season. This role is responsible for reviewing prepared tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state tax regulations prior to filing. The ideal candidate has strong tax knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review individual and/or business tax returns prepared by tax staff for accuracy and completeness

• Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations

• Identify errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and recommend corrections

• Verify proper application of tax rules, deductions, credits, and calculations

• Provide clear feedback to tax preparers to improve quality and consistency

• Confirm all required documentation and supporting schedules are complete

• Assist with resolving corrections or tax-related questions as needed

• Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive client and financial information

• Stay current on tax law updates and internal quality standards

Qualifications

• Prior experience preparing and reviewing tax returns required

• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to meet deadlines during the busy tax season

• Proficiency with tax preparation software

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

• Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or equivalent tax credential

• PTIN (required for paid tax professionals)

Position Details

• Compensation: $22.00 per hour

• Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Seasonal position during tax season

• In-office assignment

• Full-time hours with potential overtime during peak periods
