Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician who combines hands-on mechanical expertise with computer proficiency to support our operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with tools and equipment while maintaining accurate digital records and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment including pumps and related machinery
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using Microsoft Office applications
• Document work completed, parts used, and time spent on projects
• Communicate effectively with team members and management via email and digital platforms
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications

Mechanical Skills:

• Proficiency with hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, etc.)
• Ability to disassemble and reassemble pumps and mechanical components
• Understanding of basic mechanical principles and troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Valid forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain)

Computer Skills:

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic reporting
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook for email communication and calendar management
• Basic computer literacy including file management and digital documentation
• Ability to learn new software systems as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods
• Manual dexterity for handling tools and small parts

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or maintenance environment
• Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical systems
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
