This role requires HANDS-ON FRONT END LOADER EXPERIENCE WITH A BUCKET.

  • ❌ Candidates without FRONT END LOADER experience will NOT be submitted

General Purpose

The Front End Loader Operator is responsible for keeping material flow consistent and safe throughout the facility, including feeding balers and sort lines, managing material piles, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

Primary Duties

  • Feed baler infeed belt to keep baler running (no “black-belt”)

  • Feed sort line metering bin to maintain continuous operation

  • Push up and manage material piles

  • Keep bay doors and ramps open and free of debris

  • Transfer loose material

  • Prevent backups at sort line outfeed areas

  • Receive loose loads of material

  • Perform housekeeping duties

  • Participate in environmental, health, and safety programs

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions

General Responsibilities

  • Operate front end loader according to training and operator’s manual

  • Keep belts evenly loaded with material

  • Properly load metering bins using full bucket extension without contacting bin walls

  • Monitor and remove contaminants from materials

  • Organize tip floor to separate materials by grade

  • Communicate with baler operators regarding material flow changes

  • Coordinate with other loader operators, lift truck operators, and pedestrians

  • Monitor customer movement in tipping areas and docks

  • Complete required paperwork

Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and complete documentation

  • Clean engine, radiator, intake filters, cab, and windows daily

  • Report equipment damage or safety issues immediately

  • Daily preventive maintenance time: up to 20 minutes (Cat 914–930 loaders)

Housekeeping Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean tip floor areas

  • Push up material bunkers

  • Maintain safe travel lanes for customers and deliveries

PPE Requirements

  • Hard hat (when outside loader)

  • Hearing protection

  • Eye protection

  • Hi-Vis vest or garment

  • Gloves (task dependent)

  • Safety shoes/boots with puncture-resistant soles

  • Dust mask (optional)

Qualifications

  • Proven Front End Loader operating experience

  • Ability to meet physical job demands

  • Strong communication of task and safety information

  • Completion of loader operator training (written & hands-on)

  • Documented assessment by a certified instructor
