Position Overview:

A growing company in the Cicero area is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This full-time, temp-to-hire position is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable functions, invoice processing, reconciliations, and supporting operational and accounting accuracy across the organization. The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Match receiving documents and purchase orders to vendor invoices

• Post all receiving and invoices accurately within the accounting system

• Process utilities, insurance, maintenance, and other recurring payments

• Execute check runs, ACH payments, and manual checks

• Maintain check transactions, registers, and daily bank reconciliation

• Enter and approve positive pay checks daily through the bank

• Track truck mileage, leasing details, and maintain related documentation

• Maintain organized records of contracts, leases, and service agreements

• Invoice warranty repairs for bar washers

• Prepare and invoice contract billbacks (monthly) and flyer billbacks (quarterly)

• Monitor rebate programs and maintain supporting spreadsheets

• Track and reconcile credits, including:

  • Local (non-Nissco)

  • Flyer credits

  • Billback credits

  • Rebates

• Submit NESA sales reporting on a monthly basis

• Cross-train in purchasing functions and provide coverage as needed

• Assist with miscellaneous accounting projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting Support preferred

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reconciliations, and financial tracking

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic

• Driven to produce high-quality outcomes for both customers and the company
