General Summary:

The Fishing Line Final Winder position is responsible for winding fishing line into spools per customer specifications, which is the final step before packaging.  

Monday - Friday

3:45pm - 12:30am

Job Summary

The Final Winding Operator is responsible for accurately winding fishing line onto a variety of spool types according to customer orders and production standards. The role involves machine operation, quality inspection, and documentation. Progression is based on demonstrated skills and output, not tenure.

Core Responsibilities

·         Safely operate a variety of machines and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

·         Ensure proper product specifications are met per work order requirements.

·         Identify and correct non-conforming material during operations.

·         Communicate machine malfunctions to maintenance and supervision.

·         Maintain clean and organized workspaces, including, but not limited to, routine sweeping and disposal of excess material.

·         Accurately complete production paperwork and documentation (e.g., inspection sheets, scrap reports).

·         Verify part numbers and material match the work order and resolve discrepancies.

·         Support quality inspection and peer documentation review as needed.

·         Training & Mentorship: Support and train new hires and peers, ensuring process understanding.

·         Other duties as necessary for the department.

·         Mechanical Dexterity: Operate various machine types and perform basic troubleshooting.

·         Production Accuracy: Meet performance KPIs as established by the department.

·         Documentation Accuracy: Complete inspection, and production paperwork accurately.

·         Judgment & Prioritization: Determine priority orders and assign them effectively.

·         Training & Leadership: Train others on SOPs, assigned tasks, and team KPIs.

·         Process Adherence: Maintain consistent compliance with company procedures and safety programs.

·         Communication: Effectively share production concerns and updates with team leads and supervisors.

Physical & Environmental Conditions

• Stand for 8+ hours; walk and move between machines throughout the shift.
• Use fingers and hands for fine motor tasks and grasping fishing line.
• Visual acuity required to identify defects, color variations, and machine readings.
• Lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs regularly.
• Operate in a clean, well-lit manufacturing environment using PPE as needed.

Must be able to pass drug test.  Background check will be performed.
