We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Mechanic to support operations at our food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electromechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. The ideal candidate has strong electrical knowledge, experience in food or manufacturing environments, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment
Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
Support production lines, packaging equipment, conveyors, and processing machinery
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, OSHA, and plant safety standards
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to minimize downtime
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
Respond to emergency maintenance calls during production as needed
High school diploma or GED required
Technical school, apprenticeship, or vocational training in electrical or industrial maintenance preferred
Electrical license or certification a plus
PLC training or certification preferred
Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; food manufacturing preferred
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (480V/240V/120V)
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, and control systems
Mechanical troubleshooting skills (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment
Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime
Commitment to safety, quality, and cleanliness standards
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or noisy production environments
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when required
