A global manufacturing supplier in the North Vernon area is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor. I am partnering directly with the organization to support their confidential search and am managing all candidate submissions.

 

In this role, you will oversee hourly production associates and ensure resources are aligned to meet daily operational goals. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, setup, and execution of production activities; coordinating material flow; and maintaining labor and material requirements to support the production schedule. You will also collaborate with production support teams, communicate expectations, provide training, monitor performance, and support equipment maintenance and quality processes.

 

Job Description

• Lead production associate performance by selecting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and providing feedback.

• Communicate job expectations, monitor performance, and support compensation recommendations while adhering to company policies.

• Maintain production processes by monitoring volumes and recommending adjustments.

• Ensure workflow efficiency by monitoring progress, expediting materials, resolving issues, and eliminating stoppages.

• Complete daily shift production reports, including yields and recoveries.

• Communicate production status, requirements, and issues to the next shift to maintain continuity.

• Support a positive working relationship with union personnel (where applicable) by following the terms of the CBA.

• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by following organizational and legal standards and addressing concerns promptly.

• Contribute to overall production success by supporting related tasks and assisting others as needed.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Minimum of 2+ years supervising production staff.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.

• Willingness to work weekends as needed
