Our client, a well-established, family-owned education and testing support company in the Asheville area, is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join their team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping people, explaining processes, and guiding customers step-by-step toward their goals.

You will work directly with individuals preparing for professional exams and continuing education. Your job is to walk customers through what they need, get them signed up, and make sure they’re set up for success using online courses, exams, and study programs.

This is a relationship-based, consultative customer service role, not a call-center job.

The Important Stuff

• Pay: $20/hr with potential for commission once trained

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Location: Onsite in the Asheville area (not remote)

• Full-time, long-term opportunity

What You’ll Be Doing

• Answer calls and emails from customers needing help with exams and continuing education

• Guide customers through what tests they need, what courses to take, and how to get started

• Help customers register for exams, courses, and online programs

• Walk customers through using the online testing and learning platforms

• Maintain and update customer information in the CRM system

• Use Microsoft Excel and internal systems to track accounts and progress

• Provide friendly, patient, and clear support to customers who may be nervous or confused

• Build long-term relationships and look for opportunities to recommend the right products and services

What They’re Looking For

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Comfortable explaining processes and guiding people step-by-step

• Microsoft Excel and CRM experience required

• Good computer skills and comfort working with online platforms

• Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable

• Sales or consultative customer service experience is a plus
